Why two swabs in the Covid-19 Kit ?
- For initial diagnostic testing for COVID-19 the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends collecting and testing upper respiratory (nasopharyngeal & oropharyngeal swabs).
- Workflow for virus detection Sample collection -> Transfer -> Vortex -> Harvest supernatant -> NA preparation by filter method or magnetic method -> PCR set-up -> PCR reaction -> Detection.
- This UTM collection and transport system is certified as Biopsy Procedure Kit, Class II with product licence number 15-211 by Korean FDA.

- Swab composition is synthetic fibers, complex enough to capture cells, but releases those cells when immersed in transport media (this is a patented feature).
